To reach Darjeeling by rail, the nearest station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP). From NJP, take the famous Darjeeling Himalayan Railway or a taxi for a 7-hour journey. For Gangtok, there's no direct rail link; travelers can reach NJP and continue by road, covering the approximately 4-5 hour drive to Gangtok.
